Cy-Fair V.F.D. Welcomes Two Newly Elected Commissioners
On Monday, June 1, 2009 at 1:06 p.m. Harris County Judge, Ed Emmett, swore in two newly elected officials to be Commissioners with the Harris County
Emergency Services District #9 (ESD). The two Commissioners are Don Grogg and Suzanne Davis.
Don Grogg joined the CFVFD when he moved to Cypress, TX in 1984 as a volunteer firefighter and an Emergency Medical Technician until 1991. In 1995 he was
appointed Commissioner for Harris County ESD #9. For fourteen years, Don has served his community and ours with his dedication and service as a Commissioner.
With changes in the laws, this is the first time Don has had to be elected to the position. Over the years, Don has committed himself to the community by his
accomplishments. Don is President of the Texas Sate Association of Fire and Emergency Districts (SAFE=D) has participated as a designated witness for the Texas
Senate’s Interim Intergovernmental Relations Sub-Committee on emergency services.
Don is a cofounder and President of Texas Process Equipment in Houston. Texas
Process is one of the largest and well respected regional suppliers of sealless pumps and pump services in the nation.In 1999, the company won the Excellence
in Distribution Award from the Industrial Distribution Magazine. In 2005, was recognized by Lone Star College as the Small Business of the year. From 1994 to
1998, Don served as a senior judge and Vice Chairman of the Texas Quality Award. He is the Chairman of the Board of Governors for Quality Systems Registrars. For
the past three years, Don has been a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. At Lone Star College – Cy-Fair, Don sits on the President’s Advisory
Board and is a director of the Lone Star College Foundation. He is also an Advisory Director for Amegy Bank.
Suzanne Davis is serving her first term as a Commissioner with the Harris County Emergency Services District #9. Suzanne is one of nine children in her family
being born and raised in the Pasadena area. Being a volunteer in the community has brought Suzanne much enjoyment for over 15 years taking the time to spend with
her son as a Scout Master. Suzanne has been self-employed for 27 years with a degree in Art. Currently, Suzanne belongs to five Republican clubs while maintaining
her Precinct chair. A little excitement and enjoyment is what Suzanne would like to bring with her and to make sure that the community is aware of ways that the
ESD is helping to make the area a great place.
The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department welcomes both, Don Grogg and Suzanne Davis to the Emergency Services District #9 and looks forward to working with
them to help the needs of the growing community.
